About Michelle

Michelle is a Professional Life Coach (PLC), with a degree in Psychology from the University of Waterloo, and is a licensed No More Excuses facilitator.

Michelle is a fitness instructor with GoodLife Fitness and is an active participant in road racing and triathlons, having completed 4 marathons, two Ironman Triathlons, several half marathons, dozens of short distance triathlons and road races, and most recently the Muskoka Half Ironman. “I love the challenge that comes with racing – pushing the boundaries, testing my fitness, but mostly loving the time I spend with friends and family in the outdoors, encouraging one another to reach beyond our mental limits. I truly believe that we reach the goals we set for ourselves, and that we will always stop at the roadblocks we build in our minds”.

Beyond her passion for fitness and sport, Michelle brings a unique perspective to the world of health and wellness as a Certified Lifestyle Coach. For nearly a decade she has been viewed as an “expert” in the world of health, fitness and active living and has given her time freely to anyone and everyone who has wanted to make a lifestyle change. “I believe I have motivated and inspired dozens of friends, family members and colleagues, and thousands of members, to eat better, to exercise more, to take up running or triathlon, to join the gym, to live a balanced life or to strive for personal excellence. Two years ago I realized that I could turn my passion for helping others into my career, and launched Finding Flow Lifestyle Coaching”. Michelle provides individual and group coaching sessions every week, and holds lifestyle workshops throughout the year.

Michelle believes very strongly in giving to the community. Through her work as a Lululemon Ambassador she hopes to help people realize that being in good health means more than feeling physically well; it also means feeling mentally well. Today, we are more aware of how our mental and physical health affects ourselves and each other. I have said to my class many times “this class isn’t about doing it the right way, it’s about doing what’s right for you, and to do that you need to listen to your body and forget about everything else”. Encouraging my members to let go of the “shoulds” and the “have tos” means we can take the time to focus on bringing awareness to the mind and body as a complimentary system. Life is full of change, risks and challenges. By practicing mind and body fitness, we can nurture your mind, body and spirit in a positive and enjoyable way. The ultimate result is feeling better about our bodies, our lives and the people around us.

Michelle is co-president of Finding Flow Wellness Centre, which offers support to men and women of all ages. She is a member in good standing of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and of the Canadian Fitness Professionals (Can-Fit-Pro). She is regularly invited to be a guest speaker at corporate retreats and educational seminars.
